Vertical Ventaglio at MAG

Vertical Ventaglio was a gift to MAG from collector Charles Rand Penney.  For a number of years the sculpture lived at Penney's home in Olcott, New York, on Lake Ontario.

Penney was a passionate art patron, and during his lifetime assembled several important collections, among them views of Niagara Falls, Roycroft art and artifacts, Oceanic art, objects related to Mr. Peanut, and the definitive collection of work by painter Charles Burchfield.

In honor of his contributions to that institution, the Burchfield Museum was renamed in 1994 as the Burchfield-Penney Art Center.
