Jack Anderson's Column D&C by Shreelah Ray
Inside the huge public square of my heart
a crowd gathers.
The people are shouting and carrying signs:–
Long live the poppy fields!
A 100-watt light bulb in every hut!
Get out of my house!
I can tell by their complexion
they will be eliminated.
I despair and fall asleep.
last night a group of them
climbed aboard a freighter
and dumped entire crates of Coca-Cola
into the harbor.
