Girolamo Mazzola Bedoli

Girolamo Mazzola Bedoli (Italian, ca. 1505—ca. 1569) made a name for himself as a portrait painter serving the noble families of northern Italy, particularly the Farnese (far-NAY-zee) family of Parma.

His life and work included close associations with Parmigianino (par-MIJ-ee-ah-NEE-noh), a greatly popular artist. After Parmigianino’s untimely death, Bedoli completed many of his unfinished commissions.
