Description: Six Cubes

Six stainless steel cubes balance in space, appearing to defy the laws of gravity. While the cubes themselves are fixed in place, by walking around the work, the viewer can experience a change in their relationship with each other as well as a change in the proportions of the negative space in the center.

William Sellers’ work is related to the kinetic work of George Rickey, seen nearby, as they both incorporate movement in their fullest expression – in Sellers’ case, the movement of the viewer, and in Rickey’s case, the movement of the elements themselves.
